About The Program

We launched the ADAPT Plan for our beneficiary children under substance abuse and addiction of many psychoactive substances, narcotics and alcohol.

Throughout the coming year, 300 children will be extended the support of life skills education, mental health training, counseling and rehabilitation.PVR Nest will also reach out to around 3000 family members of the beneficiaries and around 50,000 community members in the 4 Childscapes centers.To mark this partnership, PVR Nest organized a commemorative activity to coincide with the World Health Organization’s World Health Week on 5th April’2012. Ms Cristina Albertin- Regional Representative (South Asia) - United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC) was the program’s Chief Guest. This activity was attended by Mrs. Selena Bijli- Trustee of PVR Nest along with 400 people from diverse sectors like United Nations agencies, Government agencies, International NGO’s, Corporates and other institutions.

She, along with the program partners, launched the first ever publication on substance abuse ‘Meri Swasthya Yatra (2) in Hindi dedicated to children, their families, communities and the society. PVR Nest also showcased a short film to the audience which captured the highlights of a vulnerable child on the streets and his journey to empowerment.

She felicitated 20 children from PVR Nest’s programs who have excelled in education, health and got jobs at PVR Cinemas after vocational training. This program also saw around 400 organizations from diverse sectors like International agencies, Government departments, corporates and educational institutes coming together for the first time for our children. Young children also presented an entertaining performance on shadow puppetry, one of the oldest art forms, showcasing a story of a child’s rehabilitation from drugs.
